Required Swipe At City Of Milwaukee: Isn't This Is A Civil Defense Bunker From The Cold War?

This Was A MLB Stadium?

Look, I'm not trying to be mean, and Milwaukee is a nice place and all, but for goodness sakes, The Brewers played here until just a couple of years ago, and we're getting grief about RFK Stadium?

The bowl of the stadium looked very much like Cleveland's Municipal Stadium, which wasn't the park to try to emulate. It was one of those stadiums whose stands just seem to end at some random point down the baseline. Like the Twins stadium, it was in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by parking lots; not exactly esoteric but certainly utilitarian.

I guess the saddest reflection of the appearance of County Stadium was after it was torn down for additional parking space for new Miller Park. People kept driving by, looking at this vista, and saying, "When are they going to tear down the old park?"

I like County Stadium. Makes RFK look kind of hi-tech, doesn't it?
Comments:
I take no offense at the County Stadium swipes, it was simply an awful stadium. Miller Park is much nicer, thank you very much.

On a side note, there is a little league field just outside of Miller Park that gets a lot of use. The home plate for that field is in the same location as the home plate was for County Stadium. Nice touch.
