A few months ago, the Washington Nationals officials were ready to announce that RFK Stadium was to be "partially" renamed within "a few days." At first, it was to be a financial institution and later one of the military organizations.

I haven't heard a word since. Does anyone have any updated information about the naming/renaming of RFK? Please leave a reply to this post with any info you may have.

Thanks.

I asked Needham about this at the Nats/Oakland game, and he indicated that its pretty much dropped from the radar. Nobody knows a thing.

I attended a DC Bar event at RFK last night that featured Claude Bailey, General Counsel of the DC Sports and Entertainment Commission. Someone asked about the naming rights. He mentioned that they were in negotiations with a party, by which I assume he meant ProFunds, but he didn't elaborate too much except to say that they are trying to get someone to pony up for the rights. My impression was that Profunds is not going to happen.
